Troyan is a town situated in north Bulgaria with a population of 25000 citizen and spreads across the two banks of the river Beli Osam in the foot of the Balkan Mountain.
It is located 180km northeast from Sofia,
our capital ,100km away from Veliko Tarnovo, one of the old Bulgarian capital and town with a lot of amazing a historic sites and 35km away from Lovech, our regional city.
Troyan was found as a directional village in the beginning of the Troyan pass/passage. The city got it’s name from the ancient roman road – Via Trayana, connecting the Dunav river with the White Sea since 1-2 centuries A.D. The city enjoys the incredible mixture of fresh spring, cool summer, bright and warm autumn and a soft and snowy winter.
Troyan is known for it’s unique works of art and the works of the folk craftsmen.Pottery and Wood carving flowered during the 19th century, many pieces of that art can be seen today in the Museum of National Crafts and Art.
The Troyan Monastery “Uspenie Bogorodichno” is located 10km away from the city and it’s one of the three most big monasteries in Bulgaria. The legend says that the monastary was created by Atonian monks who carried the “light of their monastery” – the miraculous icon of Bogorodica Troeruchica(Mother of God with three hands). Today this icon is one of the most popular lights in the Bulgarian Church.
The whole view, and the past of the monastery are inextricably linked with the wild and clear waters of the Osam river, that springs somewhere in the high mountain peaks of Amabarica and Kupena.

Troyan    is also known for it’s traditional holiday of the plum and the plum “rakia”, which is celebrated during the last Saturday of September. The Festival gives opportunity to admirers and manufacturers to meet up, and for the tourists -it’s an unique chance to taste real Troyan plum “rakia”.
The kindergarten “Sinchec” is a child educational facility for children from 3 to 7 year-old. According to the educational law of Bulgaria, kindergartens are the first step in the ladder of education.
The Kindergarten “Sinchec” has a nearly 40-year-old history. It was found with the sole purpose to become a more unusual place, where children would feel safe and loved, and would come every day with pleasure, learning something new. Years are passing by one by one, teachers and staff are changing, but everybody worked and is still working with great enthusiasm and love.At the moment there are 143 kids and 28 people who take care of them every day, 14 of them are pedagogical specialists with high qualifications.
Planning our participation in the realization of our joint project, we were not just counting on foreign experience, but also on the good practices that already existed in the Bulgarian schools and kindergartens. We’ve been successful in various projects in civic education aimed to adapt chipped children. We hope to use all that to make our project goals real and together to make our school or kindergarten a better place for our kids.
